Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is a Slingerland Standard 9" x 13" tom tom with a rare 1st generation black sparkle wrap. This drum has a Black & Brass Niles badge with serial number 206xxx. The interior of the drum is the beige, chocolate milk color common between 1966 and 1970. We date the drum to be around 1968. It has a first generation black sparkle wrap with sparsely set maroon sparkles on a solid black background. The wrap is in excellent condition with very little fading showing lots of maroon highlights under the lights. The wrap is tight with hardly a scratch on the surface. All original parts including an original Slingerland Sound King resonant head. The six double tension chrome Sound King lugs are also inexcellent condition as are the chrome over brass counter hoops. This is a rare find of an all original mid-1960's tom tom in a super rare wrap.
